UPCYCLED VINTAGE FURNITURE
The Art of Transforming Furniture with Decoupage
Upcycled vintage furniture is more than just a new trend here at The Pheasant Plucker's Wife. We've been championing upcycled furniture for a number of years and we've transformed numerous well-built but dated pieces into stunning show stoppers.
From bedside cabinets to bureaux; drawers to drinks cabinets, we've taken tired and drab furniture and made it fabulous again with decoupage. Decoupage is the art of sticking paper onto another surface, in our case wallpaper onto furniture. There's a knack to it of course and we are proud to say that our decoupaged upcycled furniture has attracted the attention of the media and even designer Matthew Williamson.
Bespoke Furniture Commissions
We work with our customers on bespoke furniture commissions to achieve the perfect piece of statement furniture for their homes. We will discuss options with you and colour mix the paint to get the perfect shade. We only use quality materials, low VOC paints such as Little Greene and Fusion Mineral Paint. We specialise in decoupage using designer wallpapers. The choice of amazing wallpapers is endless and we're happy to give our suggestions for the perfect match to any piece of furniture. Choosing pattern can be overwhelming, and we can help advise what suits a piece of furniture. In fact, that's the design decision that makes all the difference. We love using William Morris and Cole & Sons but there are literally thousands of gorgeous designs to choose from.
Upcycled furniture - Solving Your Design Dilemma!
It's no secret that we love decoupage, but we're not a one-trick pony! A sleek makeover with a fabulous paint can make a huge transformation. Our Mid-century modern pieces often retain a lot of their natural wood and our restyling is subtle. Many of our customers already own something that they like but it just doesn't 'go' any more with their decor. It may have sentimental memories, or just be too good to throw away. We love seeing the look on our clients' faces when they see their own piece of furniture restyled.
Upcycling is Good For The Environment
Increasingly, we find people are uncomfortable buying new furniture when there is an option to create something unique from something pre-owned with good bones. There's a real appreciation now that upcycling is good for the environment, and there are some really creative professionals producing some amazing work.
"I have bought a number of statement pieces of upcycled furniture from The Pheasant Plucker's Wife and never been disappointed. Each one is finished superbly and adds a wow factor to the room. Michele custom mixed paint colours for me to suit each room. We love that it's upcycled too; it feels great to be getting bespoke, beautiful furniture without any of the guilt!"

"The bureau arrived today. I was out at the time but my wife was here and kept it wrapped for the grand unveiling when I returned.
I have to say we are both knocked out by it. You have done a wonderful job and we are so pleased to have it. It looks great in the corner we set aside."
